Day 1: FRIDAY
Arrival
- Arrival at Cairo Airport from the UK
- Transfer to The Movenpick Hotel in Cairo
Day 2: SATURDAY
Pyramids, Sphinx, Sakkara & Memphis Tour
- Visit to Memphis, the first unified capital of the ancient world.
- Visit to Saqqara the necropolis of Memphis exploring the famous Step.
- Visit to the Pyramid with a chance to enter the ancient tombs and admire the timeless hieroglyphics inscribed on their walls.
- Visit the Giza Pyramids and the Great Sphinx, the last remaining Wonders of the Ancient World.
Day 3: SUNDAY
Egyptian Museum, Citadel of Salah El Din, & Khan El Khalili Tour
- Visit to the Egyptian Museum to see an extensive collection of ancient artifacts including the treasures of King Tutankhamun and the famous golden mask.
- Visit the Citadel of Salah El Din, a medieval Islamic-era fortification, and explore the stunning Alabaster Mosque of Mohamed Ali, offering breath-taking views of Cairo.
- End the day at Khan El Khalili Bazaar, one of the largest and most famous bazaars in the Middle East.
Day 4: MONDAY
Cairo to Luxor
- Transfer to Cairo Airport for our 1 hour domestic flight to Luxor.
- Upon arrival in Luxor, we’ll be taken to the Karnak Temple, one of the largest religious complexes in the ancient world.
- Around 1pm, check in your rooms on board our 5* luxury cruise-liner.
- We’ll have a delicious lunch on board as we begin our sail along the River Nile Cruise.
- In the evening we’ll visit the Luxor Temple, where once many pharaohs, including Alexander the Great, were crowned, marking it as a symbol of royal power.
- After the tour, return to the cruise ship for dinner and party.
Day 5: TUESDAY
Valley of the Kings and Queens
- After breakfast we visit the West Bank, the land where the sun sets and the place designated as a burial ground by the ancient Egyptians.
- Visit the tombs in the Valley of the Kings and the Valley of the Queens and there will be an additional charge if you’d like to visit the Tomb of Tutankhamun and Ramses VI.
- Back to the boat as we set sail for Edfu whilst enjoying the five o’clock tea along with the Captain Cocktail Party before dinner.
Day 6: WEDNESDAY
Temple of Horus at Edfu
- After breakfast we visit Edfu including Temple of Horus.
- Lunch on board, sail via Kom Ombo to Aswan.
- Relax during the sailing while enjoying the five o’clock tea.
- Dinner and Galabeya Party. It is a tradition on these Nile River Cruises to have a party where everyone buys and wears a Galabeya, a traditional Egyptian gown.
Day 7: THURSDAY
Aswan & Philae
- After breakfast we visit the High Dam, the construction that created Lake Nasser, the world’s largest reservoir before heading to the Island of Philae.
- We’ll have lunch and then sail on the Nile in a traditional Felucca around Elephantine and Kitchener’s Island. (Felucca is traditional wooden sailing boat)
- Back to the ship to watch a ‘Nubian Show’, Dinner and party.
Day 8: FRIDAY
Botanical Gardens by Felucca
- Set sail on a 2-hour private felucca tour of Aswan’s Botanical Gardens, and explore Kitchener Island with an Egyptologist. Land on the lush shores of the garden isle of palm trees, sandalwood and exotic plants were first planted by a legendary British military leader. Learn the story of the island in a small botanical museum, and relax on this tranquil and shady Nile oasis.
- Back on the ship for dinner.
Day 9: SATURDAY
Optional trip to Abu Simbel
- Optional excursion to Abu Simbel with its magnificent temples dedicated to Ramses II and Queen Nefertari with their colossal statues and well-preserved reliefs.
- Back on board for Lunch.
- After lunch, sail to Kom Ombo to visit the Haroeris and Sobek temple.
- Back on board for Dinner and party.
Day 10: SUNDAY
Temple of Karnak
- After breakfast we sail to Luxor and visit the most magnificent of the Nile temples, the stunning Temple of Karnak, constructed over a vast area during a period of some 1300 years. It incorporates a visit to the Great Hypostyle Hall with its gigantic pillars and the Sacred Lake.
- Back on board for Lunch.
- Farwell Dinner and party.
Day 11: MONDAY
Disembarkation at Luxor
- Enjoy our final Breakfast and private transfer back to the Luxor airport.
- Return flight back to the UK.
